Tea Party For the IDPs

Afternoon Tea for the IDPs (internally displaced people)

There are thousands of people in Northeast Nigeria who have become refugees in their own country owing to the attacks of book haram. These people are internally displaced with nowhere to live and no means of livelihood. This people need our help!

Ramadan is approaching fast and there is a great need to raise money to feed our displaced brothers & sisters. We have therefore organised a special “Tea Party" fundraiser on the 20th of May 2017.

The idea behind a tea party for the Internally Displaced (IDPs) is for us to be able to spare a few hours of our time and our resources in a way those less fortunate could never dream of.

While Ramadan is certainly the best time for us all, it is equally the most testing for them.

Aside from the numerous virtues of Sadaqa, when we help to ease the hardship of others, our hope is that Al- Fattah (The Opener, Sustainer) will in turn grant ease to us.

Our campaign is to feed one displaced person for the entire month at a cost of £15 each.

We will have

  1. Afternoon tea - Sandwiches, scones, cakes & an assortment of teas
  2. A brief presentation by F.R.E.E (Foundation for Refugee Economic Empowerment) of their charity work.
  3. Guest speakers: Miriam Hughes & Aisha D Atta.
  4. ‘Sisters’ gift packs, henna body art, personalised calligraphic artworks and many more will be available for purchase.

ALL PROCEEDS GO TO F.R.E.E.

This is the month of huge reward.

Be a friend of F.R.E.E & feed an IDP.
