Sheikh Mohammed Vanker [may Allah preserve him] began studying the sacred sciences after completing his schooling career. After having completed the memorization of the Quran in 1996, For the next six years he went on to study the Islamic sciences which include Arabic [and all its related sciences becoming especially fluent in Arabic ,Tafsir, Hadith, Aqidah and Fiqh. He studied at a well known Darul Uloom in Kwazulu Natal

Having studied under senior Ulama from South Africa and the Indian Subcontinent and receiving ijazah from them, he went on to teach Quran and fiqh for the next 3 years thereafter took up the post of Imaam at the well known Umhlanga Masjid in Durban. He has been serving as Imaam of the Umhlanga Masjid for the past 11 years.

Sheikh Mohammed Vanker is married with 4 children,currently resides in Durban South Africa and has travelled extensively throughout the Muslim world and the West for the purpose of Dawah and teaching. Some of the countries he has visited include various Central African Nations, the Middle East, Singapore, Malaysia,Pakistan,Canada,Dubai and the U.S.A. He conducts programmes on channel Islam, ITV as well as Radio Islam and various international radio stations. He had the good fortune of performing salaah at Masjid Aqsa. His travels and lectures have been a means of great inspiration to many across the globe.
