The Muwaṭṭaʾ of Imam Malik is the earliest written collection of hadith comprising the subjects of Islamic law, compiled and edited by the Imam, Malik ibn Anas. Malik's best-known work, Al-Muwatta was the first legal work to incorporate and join hadith and fiqh together.
This course is aimed for those seeking to studying the hadith text using the classical commentary of Imam al-Zurqani. Students will study the methodology used by Imam Malik in narrating and compiling hadith, as well as the many different transmissions of the text and their relative strengths and weaknesses.
